Point 1: Check the Fendi Logo
The iconic Metal F’s of Fendi’s authentic logo should be staggered on either side of the rectangle, and never directly across from each other. When the logo is present in the monogram print, namely in the Zucca & Zucchino iterations, the FF’s blocks should be of equal sizing, and if lined up would stack perfectly. The second dash in the F should be shorter and thinner than the line above it. The FF blocks on the Zucca and Zucchino prints should have equal distances between each other.
Point 2: Check the Interior Tag

Authentic bags feature a leather tag with ‘FENDI”, ‘FENDI ROMA’ or ‘FENDI MADE IN ITALY’. In some instances, a metal plaque that matches the colour of hardware used for the bag will be found instead of the leather tag. This metal plaque would be engraved with the same text.

Vintage bags from 1970 to 1980 would feature a metal tag in a capsule-like shape that reads ‘FENDI S.A.S’. This was because the FF logo was not registered yet.

From 2004 to 2010, Fendi began incorporating hologram tags with serial numbers.

From 2010 onwards, Fendi replaced the hologram tags with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags. These tags are accompanied with an 8 digit number and a small pouch with a RFID chip inside. This chip would require an RFID reader device to identify information such as the model and serial numbers, colour and bag history. You should always ensure that there is a chip inside this tag. While many fakes have the RFID tag, many counterfeiters fail to include a chip inside them.
It is also important to note that there will never be both an RFID and a hologram tag on a bag. The only exception will be some bags in 2015, when Fendi was transitioning from using the hologram tag to the RFID tag.
Point 3: Check the Serial Number

A 15 to 17 symbols combination consisting of digits and letters, the serial number should be found clearly embossed on a leather tag either on a single, double or triple line. It may sometimes be separated by dashes, spaces or simply just connected together in a single line. In certain older models, the serial number would be found on a single line on the interior lining of the bag. The first 6 digits indicate the style number of the bag. You should always Google the style number to ensure that it corresponds to the bag design.
Point 4: Check the Hardware

Be it the clasp, bottom feet, metal attachments, metal studs or even the bottom stop of the zipper, authentic Fendi hardware should be clearly and neatly engraved or marked with either the ‘FF’ logo or ‘FENDI’. Additionally, the back of zippers should be marked with the Fendi logo. In many of Fendi’s bags, such as the Peekaboo and the Baguette, the clasps are attached to the body of the bag with screws.
Point 5: Check the Stitching

Fendi handbags always have perfect stitching in all the areas of the bag. Places to check are stitching around tags, ending of the straps, corners and in hidden places, where replicators will tend to miss out on and do not expect consumers to check.
Point 6: Fendi’s Authenticity Card

Authentic Fendi items come with a paper card which contains barcode, model, colour and serial number. The number should match the one on a leather tag inside the bag. The tags are unusually off-white and grainy in texture.
